To activate your USF Email you will first need to activate your NetID: - Go to https://netid.usf.edu
- Click on the link which says Activate your USF NetID
- Enter your First and Last Names in the fields provided.
- Click the primary identification item you wish to use:
- USF ID# is your student ID which will look like U123456789.
- USF ID card number which starts with 6400. Then press the Continue button.
- USF NetID if you were provided a NetID and personal code for activation.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. New students will be asked to select a secret question and provide an answer. Students who have previously activated their NetID will be prompted for the answer to their secret question.
- Create your password. Note: Passwords must contain both letters and numbers but no dictionary words and must be at least eight (8) characters long.
Your NetID should now be set up. Students who have previously activated their NetID will be prompted to change their password. Bookmark mail.usf.edu to access your new USF Gmail account. Note: The password you choose for your NetID will also serve as your email password.
Mail Clients Supported at USF Before you can use a third-party email client with your USF Gmail account, you must enable IMAP access into your account settings at mail.usf.edu. If you have not done so, your email client will not be able to access your USF Email account! You can use the following mail clients to read your email:
